In many gas wells the water that enters the well bore contains various amounts of salts (sodium chloride and other salts) dissolved in water. Often, as the fluid moves up the casing or tubing, these dissolved salts will precipitate out and reduce the opening in the pipe and in some instances totally plug the pipe.
If the well is bridged over with salt accumulation, it will be necessary to treat the well with 5 to 10 gallons of liquid salt dissolver. This will clean out any major deposits in perforations and casing. Allow approximately two hours for the material to dissolve salt crystals. If the salt problem is not too severe the salt dissolver may be diluted with up to 50% fresh water.
There are various treatments for this condition such as dumping fresh water into the wells or going in with tools to clear the problem.

In order to be effective the salt inhibitor stick should be used regularly two or three times per week. In most wells, 1-2 sticks per treatment should be sufficient. Treatment amounts can be increased for large water volume situations.
Salt inhibitor sticks will normally dissolve in 20 to 80 minutes depending on temperature, salt content, and relative water motion. They are 100% soluble in water. The stick melting point is around 120 degrees F.
Salt inhibitor sticks will not foam. We suggest using a soap stick or liquid soap after the salt dissolve stick as part of the well treatment.
Caution: As with all industrial chemicals, contact with eyes or skin should be avoided. Wash hands thoroughly with water after use. Sticks should be stored in a cool dry place Slide stick from tube or bag before using. Wear gloves when handling.
